Everyday Rituals

I have been doing my favourite ritual for years.

I love turning my home from night to day. Walking through the rooms, opening doors, raising blinds to let in the light and windows to let in fresh, clean air. It is a real joy to greet the day - even though I am not a morning person.

The ritual is to reflect on my intentions for the day as I go. Who do I want to be today? How can I be useful? What do I want to create?

Then in the evening, I get to turn it back to the night house. I reflect with compassion on how that went. And feel grateful for the opportunity to try again tomorrow.

It's like a keystone for my day. Lately, I've been working on building a few new rituals to the beginning and end of my day. Layering small habits, very gently, ONE THING at a time.

How can you grow your ritual just a little this year?
