Working on project You

I know I bang on a lot about doing ONE THING deep in teams and organisations - and rightly so - but it's very much a 'you' thing as well. It's a great approach for taking control and realising your professional development goals.

You can't always rely on your organisation to have just what you need and providing it for you.

It's your career. By focusing on ONE THING you want to do and being a bit proactive and resourceful about it, you can consciously take charge of your development. I call it Project You.

When you are doing ONE THING deep as part of your Project You, you get to do exactly what you need when you're ready and do it at your own pace. There is lots of information out there - but turning knowledge into something you do really well means embracing different ways of learning. That means seeking and trying things out, reflecting on progress and seeking out other people who can help.

Learning is an individual and a social game. It's both active and reflective. By using all aspects, you can build your skills for the career you want.
