ONE THING umbrella

What do you mean do ONE THING deep? Are you crazy? I've got so much to do that I couldn't possibly do that.

Some people get concerned that doing ONE THING deep means it is the only thing you do, all day long, all together and simultaneously. They picture the organisation working like a row on automatons, arms synchronised in motion on an endless production line.

This makes the idea of doing ONE THING deep feel limiting, a barrier to innovation and productivity – but nothing could be further from the truth.

ONE THING can be like an umbrella – an idea that makes sense of multiple aspects of a single workplace agenda. It’s like chunking information so that it is easier to grasp. It becomes a guiding principle that can act as a catalyst for a range of actions.

You may be a bit right about me being crazy - but just not about this ONE THING.
