Pre-bunking

Can we innoculate ourselves against misinformation and disinformation?

With so much focus on conspiracy theories and fake news, considerable effort has gone into checking facts - but that's after the fact.

But what about setting ourselves up so we can better see where we are being duped.

SECRET GOVERNMENT-FUNDED RESEARCH IDENTIFIES PLAN TO MAKE BRAINWASHING PRESCHOOL CHILDREN AGAINST MISINFORMATION MANDATORY!!! See what I did there. ;)

I've just played the game "Bad News" [link below], where you have the chance to create an online controversy. The intent is to identify some of the ways we are manipulated by misinformation.

It's pretty fun. An interesting eLearning piece. But I'm not sure of the reach into its intended market.

It got me thinking about how looking more deeply into doing the wrong THING at work can help us understand how to do ONE THING better. Or could that be a dangerous tactic for the workplace?

Maybe you've seen this done well or poorly somewhere? I'd love your thoughts.
