Make work less shit

I recently finished the first draft of my new keynote, Make Work Less Shit. It's been so much fun working on something that I hope will make people laugh, as well as helping share a few practical ways to make your workplace a bit better.

Having worked in learning and organisational development for the last fifteen years, I have been ruthlessly scrutinising ideas for achieving a better employee experience and better outcomes for people and business. Working with leaders, frontline staff and customers, attending conferences, reading books, TED Talks, studying, doing workshops, and seeking out new ideas and cutting-edge case studies is my happy place.

My role has been implementing the best of these ideas into organisations in alignment with their needs. We spend billions on leadership development, training, as well as culture, performance and engagement initiatives to support workplace excellence. So why are so many workplaces still so shit?

The same intractable problems still exist. Our trust and engagement scores have not improved over the last four decades. Psychological injury and workplace stress are increasing. For all our understanding of what good and great can be, mostly, we are having little impact or are going backwards.

We really need to sort this shit out because surely it doesn't have to be this way.

My new keynote talks about what we need to focus on to start getting our shit together in the workplace. While quite a lot of what we need to do is simple, it's not always easy.

So if things are a bit shit where you are, I hope that at least Make Work Less Shit will help you laugh about it and know you are not alone.

I will be announcing dates for preview events in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane shortly. They are only for my connections and I hope you can come along.

Or get in touch if you want to bring some heartfelt levity to your workplace or upcoming event.
