Journey or destination
Having money is fantastic. The pursuit of money isn’t.
I remember hearing this on a podcast or YouTube video a while ago and thought, “Hmm, that's interesting.”
The sentiments expressed on the podcast/video were that entirely focusing on getting more money in the hope that it will make you happy is a fool’s errand. But having enough money to give you more and better options does seem pretty cool.
Now, let’s overlook a heap of stuff going on here and focus on what sparked my interest.
In this instance, it seems that being there—the destination—mattered more than the journey. That journey caused great heartbreak, frustration, and often disappointment.
But that’s not what self-respecting self-helpers tell you. How many memes are devoted to the celebration of the journey?
So when is it all about the journey, and when is it about the destination?
