Co-creating is not everything

I love facilitating and supporting outcomes that teams and organisations create. It is great fun and hard work. And, we also know that engaging the people affected by a change early creates more successful outcomes.

BUT... It's not for everything.

It's certainly not for me when it comes to furniture.

ONE THING I don't want to co-create my furniture. I just want it in my house. Not in boxes. Not with little plastic packets that may or may not have what you need in them to co-create my desk, chair, chest of draws.

No, I want the furniture. I want it carried through the door, ready to take its place in my house and be useful. All fresh and new, all I need to do is give it a bit of a wipe over. Done!!

Now I am reasonably sure that there is an analogy for the workplace hidden in there. But basically, I just wanted to whine about how frustrating I find putting furniture together. So let me know if you see one that's relevant.
