Seeing them made

In yesterday's post, I was sharing how, like making stock, I need to allow time to make a decision. Well, in amongst that all bubbling around in my brain was an idea. One I was quite unaware of. I was answering a question I didn't even know I was asking.

When this unexpected idea chose to reveal itself, I got to see something quite rare detail. I saw how it was made and unlike sausages, it was fascinating.

A particular scene in a program on telly, a book I was reading, a recent conversation with a friend, the book I was writing, a friend sharing an experience all contributed to this idea. In our making stock analogy from yesterday, I got to see the vegetables, the spices, the bones that made the idea.

The idea that emerged was unlike any of the ingredients, but their influence was clear. The idea was mine. It would make life richer. ONE THING I knew was it needed further reduction - going deep.

But the ingredients were not aware of their role in this process. And that makes me wonder, what crazy, inane, everyday, good and crappy things that we say or do or share unknowingly contributing to new and meaningful ideas for others that could be the basis of other peoples brilliant, life-changing ideas emerging.
