It's okay, you've got this

The other day I was going through the rollercoaster ride that is being in lockdown. Most of you know what I mean. You are doing okay until you are not.

As an introvert, I'm mostly okay on my own. But that day, as I was entering the Valley of Suck, I was saved by an unexpected phone call from a friend. They could tell I was feeling a little low.

We chatted for a while about what was going on, and then she said something magical, "It's okay, you've got this". So we talked about the many ways I did "have this". Then we talked about the ONE THING I could do right now that would make everything just a little better.

By the end of the conversation, things didn't seem so bad. Sometimes another person's belief in me helps rekindle my own.

Later that day, I had the opportunity to share this with a friend who was struggling with her own motivation and belief.

ONE THING I have done since that conversation is written that statement at the top of my journal and my To-Do list. It reminders me that most of the time, I do have this. And when if I feel I don't, it's a good idea to reach out to someone who magically and continually holds that belief on my behalf.
