I can't help thinking were are prosecuting the wrong case when we focus our discussions on where people (who have the luxury of choice) do their work.
The idea of the Results Only Work Environment, where people have a great deal of autonomy and a primary accountable for the delivery of their work. If you do the work required as an individual and team member, the where and when and how is not important.
Instead, I tend to meet discussions that are narrowly defined by how many days you come into the office and Work At Designated Environment.
Not only have we lost the focus on achieving results but we seem to be narrowing the concept of flexibility to two places - work and home. There are so many ways our employees and workplaces can mutually agree flexibility.
Let's broaden the conversation, lose the divisive focus and get on with getting what matters done.
