Waving at trains

Taking a trip into the city by train for only the second time in quite a while, I noticed a child with its mum standing on the platform and waving so very enthusiastically at every train that came by.

It gave this little person such joy - despite the crotchety going-to-workers in the carriages paying them no heed.

How nice would it be if we were that enthusiastically greeted by peeps we meet?

Quite by chance that day [and I'm possibly embellishing for a good story - it might not have been that exact day], I ran into a distant acquaintance whose greeting was warm and enthusiastic. They were elated to see me. How lovely was that?

It was surprising and made me think about the degree of energy I infuse my greetings with. When do I downplay it because I trying to be professional or cooly detached or feeling reserved?

So, I am going to take ONE THING from the waving children and step my greeting up a notch. See what happens.

How upbeat do you greet?
