Take OFF

So rather than Take it IN and damage yourself, or Take it Out and damage others, there are times when things are soooo bad there doesn't seem to be any other option than to get out of here.

We see this happening following the pandemic in the 'Great Resignation' with people reassessing what their work means for their lives. And it seems like there is some stuff we are less accepting of.

Sometimes, the only rational response is to leave. But don't drop the mic every time things gets a bit tricky. We learn and grow through dealing with difficult stuff. It's part of life.

However, when it is not healthy for you, when what is happening is rubbing up against your values, then it's probably time to move on.

If you are going to Take OFF, remember two things. The grass is not always greener and you are going on to be at the next place you work at. Would you have a way of dealing if a similar situation came up again? And what role did you play in it? Take time to learn from the nightmare you left so it won't haunt you when you move.

Then get on with bringing your best contributions to a great new workplace.
